About the Project

Welcome, friends of all faiths, and members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to The Book of Mormon Project!

This website offers you an up-close and personal encounter with The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ–an amazing volume of modern-day scripture, designed and preserved by a loving God and Savior–through visual readings of its contents from beginning to end, in short segments, with real Latter-day Saints whose love for the Savior, His word, and you, prompted this initiative.

Faithful everyday members of The Church of Jesus Christ (Latter-day Saints, often nicknamed “Mormons”) volunteer to read selected passages from the Book of Mormon, in a casual setting, on camera.  We then post and share the video-readings as our gift to you, in what constitutes a seamless read-through, with company, of this sacred volume of scripture, described further on the homepage: Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ.

Under the Book of Mormon tab on the homepage, you may select a chapter to listen to and watch, or you may start at the beginning (1 Nephi) and pick up where you left off on your subsequent visit to the site.

If you’re interested in submitting a video to the website, as you read one of the passages open for contributor submissions, visit the Join the Project page of this website. That page includes instructions for claiming, creating, formatting, uploading, and submitting your personal reading of The Book of Mormon passages selected.

We invite your questions, comments, experiences, aha’s, spiritual moments, and progress as you read what has been referenced by a prophet of our dispensation, Joseph Smith, “the most correct” of any book on earth.  May God bless you in your spiritual journey and prayerful reading of this volume of sacred scripture.

We testify to you, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, as lay members of His Church, that the Book of Mormon has been preserved and brought forth in our day to re-affirm the supremacy of Jesus Christ and His role as Divine Redeemer to the world and to each of us personally. Inscribed in this book are personal and collective memos to the world regarding what is happening around us; how we can solve problems of our day and in our personal lives; principles for joyful living, ways to find strength and power through patterning our lives after Christ; and a knitting-together of His unchanging plan of salvation and eternal happiness for all of His children.
